Where has the seaweed gone? 3.

This painting is part of the BiodiverZOOM series, in which I explore the fragile balance between nature and human intervention. The dynamic, gestural abstract forms and layered textures reflect the ecosystem of Lake Balaton, specifically the issue of seagrass removal. The swirling colors and expressive brushstrokes evoke the unseen process of nature slowly transforming under human influence—often to its own detriment. The painting captures both the depth of water and the fragility of disappearing life forms while raising questions about sustainability and our responsibility to protect the local natural environment. The inspiration for the form came from Farandole, the 1971 lithographic series by Hans Hartung (1904–1989), the German master of lyrical abstraction and gestural painting. The title of the works (Farandole) refers to a traditional French circle dance, reflecting the dynamism and freedom of the compositions.
